ONE TEAM. ONE PURPOSE. ONE FAMILY.
What a message. It’s who we are, defines us and what we do and how we do it.
That’s how I started the last “Sales Corner” I had the privilege to write, and it COULD NOT be proven more true now.
It’s literally crazy what we all have gone through in the last month. Not just our family(s) but the entire human population. Most all of us have never experienced anything like this before. Not to minimize things but no sports on TV? None? What? That never happens, and it shows just how far reaching and impactful this COVID-19 monster is.
These times are unprecedented. The way our Lone Star Communications Family has handled this is to be more than appreciated and commended.
In most respects, we haven’t missed a beat. Think about it:
Work from home? Sure – we got that, no problem. Its been an almost seamless transition.
Can’t meet in person – video conference instead? Oh yes, bring it on. We are still going to work, still sneak in a few laughs and still feel the strength of togetherness.
New processes and precautions in place at most job sites? Works for us! It can’t keep us from doing our critical and essential work.
And then, THERE’S A SHELTER IN PLACE. KIDS ARE STAYING HOME AND CAN’T SAY IF OR WHEN THEY’RE EVER GOING BACK TO SCHOOL. Can you work with that too? Of course – we can make that work AND remain massively productive.
These are just a few examples (I won’t even get into toilet paper) that we have just rolled right over. No need to pardon the pun. I’ve been inside all day.
We continue to book projects, work through our ongoing backlog, AND are even installing emergency COVID units along with re-configuring most all our hospitals to carve out COVID units from their existing footprints.
For example – out of our Georgetown office, we received a Purchase Order (PO) from the Temple VA to install R5 in a 30 bed COVID unit at 4:45 PM on Friday and had the entire unit installed, tested, and certified less than a week later.
I am so proud of our group. I’m proud to be a part of this Family. Special thanks to each one of you for all you are doing and how you are doing it.
It’s been interesting with the Shelter in Place order. I’ve found that the lack of drivetime between face to face meetings has made for even more full, pressure packed days. You’d think it’d be easier to work from home and that the lack of travel would lead to feeling more rested at the end of the day. Turns out, that is not the case.
I’ve taken to rising earlier, putting on the same clothes I would if it were a day with customers and I was in the office. I’m just learning to love the grind even more. It’s the least I can do given how hard everyone around me is working in these chaotic, restricted, stressful times.
Given all we are going through, please take a minute or three to look back at the past few weeks and all that you have gone through and all you have accomplished. Sure it is our job, but WOW what a job you are doing!
Upon that reflection I just want to repeat how proud I am to be a part of this FAMILY, this TEAM, and its PURPOSE.
Stay safe everyone! The path forward is becoming clearer every day. We will get there together and be stronger for it.
