Ron Kruse - November 2022

Some of you who have been around Lone Star for a while remember when Molly Kruse was born in 1998. Tom Ryan won the office pool guessing what day Molly would be born in November of 1998. He gave the first seed money to Molly's college account from that office pool.

Here is recent news on that kid (with pigtails) that used to come to visit the Lone Star office in Grand Prairie. She was also a Lone Star employee as an intern in the summer of 2016.

I attended the Master’s graduation ceremony in Amsterdam NL on October 12, 2022. Molly was awarded her Master’s degree in Journalism.

Molly was a student in the Erasmus Mundus Masters program in Journalism, media, and globalization with a specialization in Politics & Communication. This is a joint program between the University of Aarhus in Denmark and the University of Amsterdam (UvA) in the Netherlands. Her fine work at the University of Oklahoma helped gain her admission to the program.

The first year of the program was located in Aarhus, Denmark, and the second and final year was in Amsterdam, NL.

During the graduation ceremony, six students at a time came up to the stage, took a seat, and were presented with their diplomas. They read the diploma to make sure all information was correct and then they co-signed the diploma that had already been signed by the Doctor of testing standards.

Unlike the other UvA Masters graduates on that evening, the Mundus students are a special group and had diplomas signed by two universities.

Molly is pictured with her classmates from Germany, Denmark, Russia, Pakistan, Yemen, the U.S.A., the Philippines, and Guatemala.

In a post-graduation award ceremony, Molly Kruse was the first student in the fifteen-year history of the Mundus program to receive BOTH awards for the Best Thesis and Best Journalistic Product. Dr. Andreas Shuck presented the awards to Molly Kruse which also include a monetary prize.

Proud Dad.

Mic drop.
