EMPLOYER SUPPORT OF THE GUARD AND RESERVE
Javier Solis nominated Phillip Cerna and Ronald Kruse for a Patriotic Employer Award. Javier has been serving with the Texas National Guard at the Texas/Mexico border for
this year and we hope to have him back in December.
Mr. George Nami, Ombudsman Director Texas of the ESGR (Employer Support Of The Guard And Reserve) was in our office Wednesday to hand out the awards on August 31. George works to increase understanding of our volunteer forces in their role serving and securing our country. Thanks for the visit George.

HECTOR RUIZ VOTED HOUSTON AUGUST EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH!
Hector started working with us in 2019. In a previous career, Hector worked in an IT group.
There are a lot of transactions in the warehouse for one person and he interfaces with Project Managers, Project Superintendents and Lead Technicians.
Also, odd jobs seem to come his way as it did earlier in the summer when we had to break-down all the old office furniture in the classroom.
Hector is the first person to arrive in the morning and the one who does a final walk through in the evening.
He must keep an eye on all the trucks and will also make sure that the ones we have parked get driven from time to time. Hector locked down the fort during COVID Spring & Summer 2020 and kept the transactions flowing.
He is former Gold Wing motorcycle driver and a weenie dog owner (who owns who?). Hector will represent the Houston office in the fall motorcycle tour once again reprising his role as easy rider on a Gold Wing. Hector got the opportunity to shoot sporting clays (shotgun golf) last year with Gus at a charity event for Angel Flight that was held in Rosharon.

At the August 31st at the 5th Wednesday Pizza gathering, Hector will receive his gift set from behind door #109 in Ron’s office and we will add his name to the plaque in the front lobby alongside the other 2022 Employees of the Month (Joel Orellana, Cris Ortega, Andrew Mueller, Carlos Melo, Debra Sandoval, Ernie Chavez, Marquis Woodard).
Finally, Hector will receive a limited-edition Employee of the Month commemorative custom coin designed by our own Cliff Switzer.

Last month you recognized Marquis Woodard as our July 2022 Employee of the Month. Our June Employee of the Month was Ernie Chavez.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH JULY
MARQUIS WOODARD VOTED HOUSTON JULY EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH!
Marquis started with Halco Life Safety back in July of 1999 and started down in the mail room. Halco was owned by Hal Divane at that time.
Marquis then worked for Marjorie Adams and has held various roles in Halco/Lone Star including technician, project manager, salesman, and ultimately sales manager for the past 15 years.
On June 1, Marquis Woodard was promoted by Ray Bailey to Chief Sales Officer for Lone Star Communications.
